Since we took over The Old Court Hotel in 2017, superior service has been offered. We have more than 10 years of hospitality experience, and this knowledge is passed on to our customers. We’re proud of the establishment that we run, and we can’t wait for you to come and stay. Visit our stunning hotel soon, in Witney, Oxfordshire.
Our hotel dates back to the early 1700s, and takes its name from the court house. The Old Court House opened 100 years after the courts were established. Lawyers, judges, and even the condemned were known to drink here.
This history is celebrated by our sign, which depicts a running lawyer clutching his papers.
Located close to the Cotswold border, we’re also within driving distance of Blenheim Palace and other tourist destinations. We’re a great base for touring the nearby ancient towns and villages of the Cotswolds. The dreaming spires of Oxford are just a few miles away, and Shakespeare’s Stratford is only a down the road.
Witney itself is an interesting old market town famed for its blankets. The town boasts a leisure centre, golf course, football and rugby clubs, and the unique Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
